Please note that this mini carries a mature rating. Some…no,
MANY readers are sure to find it offensive.
This mini (coming to an end with this issue), is one of the many new titles
I picked up after dumping my entire Marvel mainline (Earth-616) pull list i.e.
almost 20 titles. Not only is it one of the dozen plus titles I have picked up
since then, it has been one of the most disgustingly funny comic series
(mini or full) I have read till date.
For anyone not knowing who the Bomb Queen is, well, the closest thing I can come
up with to give you an intro about her is…think of DC’s Crime Syndicate (and its
members). That means, she is not a good guy, she is the villain, a very scantily
dressed one at that (even with all that latex/fabric usage), not to mention the
large amount of life and property damage she causes by her actions. Nothing out
of the ordinary as yet, well, here’s the twister, the people (of New Port
City)…love her.
Anyways, continuing with the rather umm…there is an interesting mixture of
violence, sex, colorful language, some more sex with an extra helping of
violence thrown in for good measure, and with a last scoop of sensual
violence to top it all up. And that is just the first half of the issue.
As for the other half, the final showdown between the ‘Queen and a blue skinned
behemoth, Public Power (snicker) takes place with as much pizzazz and blood
letting as was the battle between BQ and the last person crazy enough to go
against her.
In the end, as with all quite hero….ahem, villain oriented comics, everyone gets
what they want, with the notable exception of one mayoral candidate. Even Ashe,
the BQ’s sidekicking cat get her fill of sardines (BURRP!). And before we end
with issue and the mini, the ‘Queen is benevolent enough to give the readers one
last flash of her….assets. Conclusion: Not for
everyone, but those who will be ‘brave’ enough to read it, this has been one
hell of a ride. RATING:
9/10
