EXCLAMATION (Candid Reaction):
“I am really beginning to like this series!!”
EXPLANATION (Plot): After their recent
life threatening adventure, Sinbad and his crew take a
breather while planning for the next leg of their
journey. However, even when they are trying to be laid
back and get a few drinks they cannot seem to escape
trouble. Then again, this series does have
‘Adventure’ in its title.
However, just as Samelia and Ashcroft are sharing a
farewell kiss, with Ash departing on a (secret?) mission
for Sinbad the rest of the teammates are having quite
the bit o’ fun themselves. Pots even manages to get some
with endearing himself to one of the buxom beauties at
the Traven. Unfortunately they are backroom lovemaking
is interrupted when some of the other patrons at the
booze bar decide to flex their arms and fists on
Sinbad’s crew. What follows next is a good old fashioned
bar fight. The issue ended with the uncovering
(literally) of a new character one with history with
Cap’n Sinbad.
EXAMINATION (Story): An overall feel good
issue this story did have a few elements that got me
thinking. No, I don’t mean the visor (and or its parts)
that Sinbad & Co. are looking for. That part of the plot
is secondary, at least to me. It is the characters,
their interactions, developments and interactions that
interest me more. While it was nice to see the romance
get going and I hope it doesn’t end with heartbreak or
loss for either party, it was the green skinned crew
member that grabbed me the most. I wouldn’t say that he
is my favourite cast member, after all they are all so
well done, but I have rather liked the attention and
development given to Wilhelm recently. What got me to
stop here was, one, his saying that he has been thirsty
lately and, two, breathing fire. Okay, it was more like
burping fire after having had quite a bit of the
firewater (that’s booze for ya). Nevertheless, I don’t
recalling him having done that before, either of them.
Could it be that Wilhelm’s reptilian side is taking over
even more or there (still) something sinister inside
him? Looking forward to learning more about this in the
upcoming issues.
EXAMINATION (Art): Eduardo Ferigato
returns to the series and even though his style might be
not be my top favourite for these characters, their
setting and adventures it definitely among the Top-3.
PROCLAMATION (Conclusion): Looking forward
to learning more about Oz.
