Chucky #2: The rampage continues this issue as Chucky
dispenses a lotta more of the killing. First (and second for that matter) is the
duo from last issue, (ex-)detective Barry Preston and his wife, Shawna. That
takes up a third of the issue. The remaining two-thirds is Chucky suddenly
growing an ‘evil genius’ brain, one which has him not only exquisitely planning
a waking nightmare routine for this next victims, Jessie and (more importantly)
Jade but also spouting off on about DNA and how he going to use to frame Jesse.
I understand there is the spirit/essence/whatever of a man within that plastic
doll, but unless that man is the serial killer doppelganger of Lex flippin’
Luthor, these actions are a little to ‘out there’ to accept. And this I say
without including Chucky’s seemingly supernatural ability to zip between
Barry’s, Jade’s houses and wherever it is that he has secret hideout.
Conclusion: Promising start, not good enough follow through.
