Finally!! After what seemed like the
doldrums, Stormwatch is back with a kick-in-the-ass.
Although the “PHD” is gone and over with the Stormwatch-ers
are still doing the best they can, even with their current
situation. Speaking of PHD I miss the ‘Human’ factor of the
team i.e. the friend-family dynamic that had developed in
the first twelve issues of the series. Hope we get to see
more of the surviving PHD-ers sometime soon.
Joining Stormwatch in this issue, as with the previous one,
is the Authority. Working together, not only do the two
groups trounce their attackers (see last ish.) they also
save the life of the (dying) Fuji. Thanks to the power
transfer the carrier is able to show some signs of life,
thus allowing Engineer to use her nanites albeit for a very
short period of time.
Battalion once again shows just why he is the Big Man on the
Stormwatch team, and why he should be kept an eye on, both
by himself and by others, lest he go the way of his father.
The artwork of the series seems to be settling down with the
character designs and movements coming across more
naturally. That said I wouldn’t mind artist Andy Smith make
a return, even a short/temporary one.
RATING: 8/10
